Top of the Rock

We went to Top of the Rock this weekend. Big C joked that it was the most expensive elevator ride he'd ever taken! But we had a really fun day. I wanted to be care free while we strolled NYC so I didn't have a camera or even a purse, so we didn't get many pictures which was fine by me this one time.

We had cell phone camera's which didn't turn out too bad, and we had a really laid back fantastic day.

Don't let anyone tell you that driving and parking in NYC is impossible, I've come to realize that it's one of the most convenient trips ever. We parked 1 block from Top of the Rock for 5 hours and only paid $6 at the muni meter. Had we taken the LIRR into the city instead of driving it would have cost around $26 but we were able to park in NYC for most of the day for less then $10!

After the Top of the Rock we drove over to a spot we'd seen on Bobby Flay's Throwdown on the Food Network called the Doughnut Plant, which  happens to be in NYC on the East Side and parked for another hour for another whopping $1 at the muni meter before finally heading home. The doughnuts at this place should have put Krispy Kreme out of business years ago.

We ordered 6 doughnuts in total and we each took bites out of every single one, but never finished a single doughnut LOL.....

  1. Banana Nut Pecan - Big C's favorite, it was too bananary for me though I love banana's
  2. Coconut Creme - My second favorite as the tube was filled with banana cream
  3. Carrot Cake - Big C's and my second favorite the tube was filled with the carrot cake frosting
  4. Strawberry something? - Baby C's favorite she fell asleep with half the doughnut in her hand
  5. Blackout - None of us liked this one it was just too much chocolate on chocolate on chocolate
  6. Crème brûlée - My favorite and just like it sounds it was filled with creme brulee goodness!

  2. That looks awesome. Do you guys feel like NYC is your town or do you feel like tourists? I can't imagine living in/near such a cool city.

  3. I love those photos! I hope to make it to NY one day just for the big city experience. BTW, loving the spring-y vibe the blog has.

  4. Baby C is almost a clone of dad but she's got mom's eyes. I am loving watching her grow.
