Thinking out loud

  1. My mother made the most wonderful dinner last night. I wish I'd taken a picture of it, though that might not have worked as when I first laid eyes on it I was less than thrilled and started to think about what I'd eat once I was done!

It was diced pumpkin, diced acorn squash, dice red peppers, chopped kale, eggs and mozzarella shredded cheese. I guess it was really a frittata but BETTER!
  2. It's Girl Scout cookie season and I'm very proud to announce that Baby C has sold thus far 327 boxes. I think last year she sold 315 but we still have time I think it ends in March some time.

I can really see how much she's grown since last year. This year Baby C and my mother sorted everyones order into bags, she signed all labels and helped curl the ribbons on each.

  3. I'm using the coolest device to carry lunch to and fro. Do you ever have something in the house that collects dust for years and then all of a sudden you use it and think it's the BEST thing since sliced bread? Yeah well that's this lunch device.
  4. It starts out like this
    Then ends up like this

It can go in the microwave and dishwasher...it's totally amazing.

  5. I simply love having my mother here. Yesterday morning Baby C decided she wanted to take her own sweet time getting ready for school. My mother decided to put a stop to those antics and sat down on the couch and told Baby C to let her know when she was ready to go. The school bus comes at 8:02 am, Baby C decided her 6 year old butt was FINALLY ready at 8:06 am. She obviously has no concept of time OR she thinks the world revolves around her.

I guess Baby C forgot that my mother DOES NOT DRIVE. The two of them ended up hurriedly walking the 1.5 miles to school from our house. Luckily my mother LOVES to walk,...Baby C NOT SO MUCH. I think I laughed so hard when I came home and heard this story. I couldn't have thought of a better way to teach her a lesson if I'd tried. (In the past if we've missed the bus I've just driven her to school because I had to get to work).
  6. If you didn't hear already Big C and Baby C went to the "Father Daughter Dance" last weekend. They looked adorable...and of course Big C was ready for a stiff drink once he got home!
P.S. I apologize now for those that follow me on instagram and feel like reading my blog is now like an echo!! LOL
