Likes and Dislikes: Christmas Season

A fellow blogger Don does a occasional post called "Likes & Dislikes" and I've been meaning to try it for quite some time.

I often feel like my blog is escaping me, running for the hills, constant log of photos reminding me of what I did when, and less and less of who I am and what I feel, think or want to say.

so I'm hoping with "Likes & Dislikes" I can spend a few minutes expressing myself and my errant thoughts.

LIKES

  • newly created traditions
  • snow
  • christmas music on christmas day
  • the turkey taking up ALL the room in the fridge the night before
  • wondering how much longer she'll believe in santa
  • 1am wrapping frenzie
  • seasonal pinterest items
  • time to reflect
  • starbucks seasonal drinks

DISLIKES

  • the thought of those less fortunate
  • the thought of those less fortunate being a distant memory by January 31st
  • left over peppermint candy canes
  • finding that present you hid too well
  • wondering what we'll do on New Years
  • tv news of someones house burning down on christmas day
  • lists of what I'll do better with next year
  • the almighty rush to get christmas cards out before dec 25th

  1. I found your "likes" and "dislikes" very interesting. Not at all along a theme of what I would have guessed or listed for myself. Therefore you have left me pondering:)

  2. Very interesting.......and yes, Don's lists are always interesting too. I'm feeling the reflection part, I've been doing a lot of that lately myself.

  3. Nicely done, I blogged the same post today. Great minds! I too listed kids who believe in Santa as a like, cause there is something special about seeing kids wrapped in the magic. I too enjoy listening to soulful Christmas songs on Christmas Day and reflecting upon the moment and pasts Christmases. And yes, the rush to mail cards is definitely a dislike. Let me also add that I become sad hearing people who experience burglaries and stolen presents around Christmas time.

    1. Some guy threw his 3 year old son and then himself off a hotel building in NYC this weekend because of a custody dispute, both died. It's SH*T like this especially over christmas that kills me. All I can think about it that mother, at home, staring that tree, the presents underneath for her son.....ugh it's heart wrenching.
