Well a few weeks ago Big C accompanied me to the grocery store to cash in!!
I was going to do it by myself, but then I got intimidated by all the people around, and bad thoughts of people watching me pouring all this change into a machine and then them hitting me over the head as I get to my car and stealing the money and leaving me and baby C on the floor for dead.
I know, I know two much imagination and too much time on my hands right.
Anyway, this was supposed to be a short one...so the bottle wasn't even a QUARTER full maybe an EIGTH if that...it felt like we were pouring for hours as they machine tells you when to slow down so it can count and it told us numerous times to SLOW the heck DOWN!!!
When it was finally done we both looked at each other in TOTAL amazement...we had $295 in that thing and never would have guesssed it.
I quickly picked the Amazon gift card and went on a shopping spree the minute I got home, I ordered all kinds of things....you know the things you want but know aren't important!! LOL Well I usually keep those things in my Amazon cart pretending that one day I'll buy them.
Well this was the day, I got a All-in-One Travel Plug Adapter, KitchenAid Blade Coffee Grinder BLACK, Krups 027-42 Replacement Espresso Carafe, FM Transmitter & Auto Charger and Cradle for iPod, KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials 2-Quart Porcelain-on-Steel Tea Kettle, Curved 3-Panel Fireplace Screen, Final Fantasy XII, TAO 1.4-Inch Digital Picture Keychain, Casio Leather Case for Exilim Camera, AND Protective Case for iPod with Video 30GB!!!
That's a lot of stuff right!! I told you it was crap that I always wanted but never had the money to buy!!
I felt like FREE MONEY!
I must get me a big water jug to put my change in. I know this bad. But all my change is the bottom of my washing machine, or in random sites around the house. SHAME! Looks like you got some good deals. Why couldn't they just cash it out and give you the cash?
ReplyDeleteWow!!! I need to do that. They have one of those machines at the grocery store by my house. I have a Amazon cart filled with little things I want but aren't pressing . Enjoy you new stuff.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Good for you! Hey, can I borrow $294?? :-)smile.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, things like that never happen to me and LORD knows I can use the money...you know for the things I'd LIKE to have! Happy Shopping!!!
That is awesome!! Its hard to believe change adds up so quickly. How long did you save it for? I love that you picked the stuff you "wanted" rather than needed...sometimes it is just nice to get wants!! :)
ReplyDeleteWowee! What a great surprise!!!!!!!! Jill
ReplyDeleteIsn't that fun? You got some really cool things with your *found* money! It adds up fast and it doesn't hurt at all! We used to do that a lot and need to start again!
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of such items in my Amazon cart...just idling...waiting...on me to start saving up those pennies and dimes and nickles and...
I am so glad you had fun!
Warm hugs,
Sue
Whoo hoo, what fun! Your imagining that someone would clunk you in the head cracked me up; I always operate under the assumption that someone's going to mug me...for my purse, groceries, the camera around my neck, the cute winter hat I'm wearing...
ReplyDeleteWhen my son was little, we'd save all our change, then when we got about $100 or so, run out and have free-day. The greatest thing we bought on free-day was a 5-man tent we found on sale, then we slept in the back yard. 12 years later, he still uses the tent. (But not in the back yard.)
Wow that's very cool!
ReplyDeleteWe have a bottle like that too, only I toss singles and coins in there and ours is called The Disney Fund
We have a large glass jar from a restaurant that had olives in it. I superglued the lid on and all spare change goes in it. That is our "Griswold family Vacation Fund" as we have not had a vacation since we moved to Europe :(
