Not much going on here...

I feel that my life is very stagnant right now, I keep starting things and within a month I've stopped them. Not deliberately, but more so because time won't permit or other priorities come along.

I need a "put myself first" workshop so that I'll follow through on things for longer than a month.

They say your house reflects your life, and right now my house is a mess but yet it feels liberating. I'm not picking up after anyone and I'm not picking up after myself either, I'm taking a vacation for a little while and as long as no one gets hurt I think I deserve it.

I signed up for a workplace challenge, it's a 3.5 miles walk, run, hop, I'm sure you can do whatever you'd like as long as you finish the 3.5 miles. I'd love to run it but I'd hate for my runners hives to flare up and I can't complete the entire thing, so I think I'll take a leisurely walk. I just picked up my t-shirt and number...I've never done something like this I plan on enjoying the me time!

Baby C and I made Orange Frostys last night after we got home from a birthday party, I'm trying to make natural healthy snack alternatives, she devoured the black bean brownies, and seems to love these orange frostys just as much.

I'll have to take pictures of her and the orange frosty my mind escaped me while she ate one this morning, I figured it was a good way to give her vitamin c and calcium and cool her off at the same time.

Orange Frosty

  • 1/2 cup frozen orange-juice concentrate
  • 1 cup milk or plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar, optional
  • 4 to 5 ice cubes

Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend. Makes four 1/2-cup servings. For variation, add a ripe banana, a ripe peach, or a cup of fresh strawberries.

I realize more and more each year how naive I am and yet I thought with age came wisdom? I think I'm going backwards. A few weeks ago a co worker of mine opened up about her husbands cocaine addition and his multiple times in rehab. Judging a book by it's cover I would have assumed she was on her way to a white picked fence, and a big house on a hill but I was completely wrong.

Then just recently another co worker opened up about her husband smoking pot? She kept reiterating it during the reciting of a story. I guess it's because each time she mentioned it I gave a faint smile as I assumed she was joking so as make light of the story she was retelling. But by the end of the story I stopped smiling and finally realized she was serious.

I discussed it with my husband last night, the fact that I have no idea why both woman felt comfortable enough to divulge such information and how if I had to bet our house on something like this we'd be homeless as I had no idea the difficult struggle the people around me lead on a day to day basis.

I guess you really NEVER EVER know! I am glad that both woman walk around with their head held high and don't really let you know the internal battles they face, but it also makes me realize I need to wake up and blow the dust off my rose tinted glasses.

Of course now I have a vision of everyone I say good morning to at work is going home and singing "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds!". I only just found out about a year ago the rumor of that song being about LSD, I swear I live under a rock. I'm terrified my daughters going to run circles around me when she becomes a teenager and she realizes how far under the rock her mother really lives. I'm already wondering what will have taken over and replaced facebook by the time she comes around.

But for now she's still a sassy, happy go lucky little girl that I love...

She picked out her own dress for her friends birthday party this time.

She didn't care one bit that she was going to a farm!

Birthday Girl Lynn!

Waiting on line for the horse ride!

Finally got on the horse!
I'm truly excited that the new director of Baby C's day care has instituted real lesson plans now. She emailed us the first lesson plan for this week, this week will be the "Week of Transportation", they'll do cars today, then buses, trucks you name it! I love that it's going to give me an opportunity to bond with her even more her, I plan on going to the library today to get the books that she's going to read this week so we can read them again at home. It should be fun!
