Lost her mind

Does this baby look like she lost her ever loving mind???

Well she did today!!! She bit her best friend Baby A on the hand twice today. Lisa said she was blowing bubbles and they were all getting excited and Baby A came toooo close to her and her bubbles and she reached out and bit him!!!

Baby A bit her on the arm about 2 weeks ago and here she is biting him TWICE.

I was pissed of course, especially after all the episodes we've been through where she got bitten. Thank the lord she didn't leave a mark, but to me that's not the point. It's just that the point isn't staring you in the face every day until it goes away.

Big C was mad of course, he's already been trying to discipline her for falling out on the floor when she doesn't get her way. You know that arching of the back and fling your head back on the ground thing. It drive Big C up the wall.

My way of dealing with her "floor show" as I like to call it, is to make sure her head is securely placed on the floor and promptly and quickly walk away, to let her know that the floor show doesn't get any attention from mommy.

So now we have to deal with biting as well. Some how I think by the time Big C is done with her not only will she NOT want to bite she'll even want her food pureed so she doesn't have to bite into that either!!!

Look at her looking all innocent standing on mommys desk today eating her ham and cheese sandwich...little did I know she'd used those teeth earlier on something that wasn't food!!!!

Here type I WILL NOT BITE 500 times:

  1. You know my response: Welcome to the Joy of Parenting! I stick by my suggestions for nipping the tantrums in the bud so we will see how long your walk away method last. He! He! Love the tagline on the keyboard picture.

  2. Well so far she gets up right after I walk away, where as with Big C he has to repeat himself over and over again to get her to get up. Even when he walks away she gets up from her floor show!!!

  3. I think you are doing the perfectly correct thing by walking away!!

It is tough but they all go through this phase! This coming from an old pre school teacher! : )

Biting...oh no...my nephew loves his teacher at pre school but one day, he got so excited by something...he grabbed onto her and bit. Now, where had be grabbed on to? Her fanny...Bit right through her slacks! We now say we know that Boo is a Butt man!! That was his first and last biting incident but I had kids all the time at pre school biting. It will subside...and oh gosh she is so cute!! No matter what!

  4. I think it's part of the age...my nephew is 15 mths old and uses his teeth as hands...leverage! It drives me nuts, i usually grab his cheeks and tell him no bite...of course he laughs and bites again! It's hard
and i'd walk away from temper tantrums too, still do, the more attn you give them when doing unacceptable behavior the more they'll do it, IMO

  5. My oldest was a biter and it really sucks but it will soon pass.

My youngest which is 3 still has his little tantrums and he does this whole dramatic thing by falling out kicking the whole bit. I just leave him be and walk away. But it pisses my hubby off when he has his tantrums. I don't think men have the patience to deal with them.

  6. OH...not the biting again? Honey, trust me, this is only a phase. A hard one, I know...but this too shall pass. All 3 of mine were biters, albeit briefly. But eventually, they'll figure out that it DOES hurt and they'll stop.

I do like your response to the "floor show". I did that too. Fortunatly, it only had to happen once. My girls are both "spot light" kinda people :-). And once they saw that no one was there to see their "performance", the fits stopped.

I can't say it enough, THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!

  8. What a cutie pie!

My grandson is going through the biting stage, at the moment. As others mentioned, this too shall pass. But it's sure a "pain", isn't it?

I clicked on your name among Suzy Q's random picks! Enjoying my visit here!

  9. oh yes, the joys of toddler-hood! I'm going to be staring it right in the face again real quick. Megan turns one next month and I can already see it happening!
Oh well...Yes it is just a phase and it does get better! But that is why God made the babies so cute, so you just can't stay mad!

  11. I think I did buy her that outfit.
I agree you totally need to keep walking away from the floor show.
That is what my parents did to me when I had my little episodes...
Although when I have them now they yell at me...
