Another Blah day

I had to stay late at work last night, so late that I had to run down stairs and get Baby C from day care and bring her up to my desk. Day care only keeps them until 5:30PM which is nice scening as we get off from work at 5PM so those extra 30 minutes are a mere courtesy.

I know if I was around a bunch of hard headed kids all day you'd see nothing but the back of me when 5PM rolled around and if I HAD to stay later, that parent who made me stay later would get the evil eye! But then that's why they do what they do and I do what I do...we can't all be good people persons huh!

The reason I had to stay late in the first place was to do with a difficult client. We've been working on a project for..., oh, I'd say 9 months now, and we were about to reach the home stretch and launch the project. We were due to launch the project simultaneously and have links on both theirs and our websites connecting to the two new websites.

Well we held up our end of the bargain and launched our NINE months worth of work for ALL of the public to see, we kept checking the links to see, 'if and when', the client would have their project launched but as the hours dwindled on nothing new was on their end.

Then at 4:45PM (and if you recall from the first paragraph we get off at 5PM) the client calls us and asks us to revert all NINE months of work back to the old stuff!! WTH? Are you serious!!!!

I was actually so mad I was in shock and I just laughed!!! Baby C was the best baby ever and just played around my desk with the white board markers and some sugar free candy. She entertained other co workers who stuck around for moral support but couldn't actually help with the roll back.

I didn't think my week would start off this badly but I should have known it would when on Sunday we went to see Horton Hear a Who with Baby C's best buddy Baby A and right as I'm about to buy the ticket an entire 20 ounce bottle of water empties into my purse and sends my camera and cell phone for a long and deep swim!!!

So as I slosh around with a bag full of 20 ounces of water, the movie is about to start, Baby C is excited to see Baby A and doesn't want to listen, I'm stuffing rolls of tissue from the popcorn kiosk in my purse and wondering why the elevator is taking so darn long to come.

Throughout the entire movie I'm trying to share in the excitement and joy of Baby C watching her second movie, and trying to remove the battery from the phone, the memory card and battery from the camera, trying to shove all of this in the only dry place I have left which is a pocket on a pair of jeans that are way too tight therefore leaving very little room within the pocket! (I know someone out there hears my pain on pockets in pants that are too tight!).

Now my phone's touch interface doesn't work but the actual phone does, Baby C loved the movie and keeps asking me where's JoJo (I have no idea how to explain to a toddler that Jojo was only in the movie, and there was I thinking she was smarter than that! LOL), and the camera finally dried out after being left over the fireplace for the last few days!!!

And here's a dried out camera picture:

So in all it seems we're off to a good week wouldn't you say!

Oh god....how could I forget to share with you the funniest picture!! So Big C and I went to a wedding two weekends ago. It was my coworker/good friend Esther who was getting married (after a long time coming). Well first off, we were ignorant and all sat on the same side, only to be told men one side, women the other, which we should have remembered for heavens sake!

click the picture to get a better view,
the guy next to Big C with the big cheesy grin is Baby A's daddy!

Then the men were all given kappels with hair clips...now this isn't funny in itself and I'm not making light of it, but I knew Big C would LOVE his kapel and wear it with joy ALL night long and I do mean ALL night long! Secondly, Big C is bald so where they expected him to place that hair clip was beyond me, thirdly our all time favorite movie is Avalon, Big C constantly does a skit from the "Green Bean" part of the movie and has the best Polish-Jewish accent, it's hilarious...so now he has a kapel to wear during his skits on green beans and gefilte fish. You have to see the movie to fully understand but Big C in that kapel is hilarious whether you've seen the movie or not don't you think?...hmmm now I think about it...I wish I'd got a closer shot of that hair clip!! LOL

  2. Mel...1st i have to say that Baby C looks so adorable in the picture with the tie on. Ok I can totally relate with you and the jeans with the tight pockets. I just end up using the back pockets because I have absolutely no idea how I will get anything out if I put it in the front pockets. I have never been to a Jewish wedding before I didn't know that everyone has to wear a kappel. I hope the end of your week improves.

  3. It has to get better! My hubby had his cell phone for exactly one week when he washed it with his blue jeans in the washing machine. He tried to be sneaky and not tell me, it really was funny AND frustrating. If that's as bad as it gets, I'd say you are in pretty good shape. Hang in there.
