I wanted to eat an ice cream drumstick before I went up to bed, but I didn't want Baby C to see it as she'd already brushed her teeth, so I sat at the bottom of the stairs eating it.
Every time Baby C come to the top of the stairs I'd run out the way so she couldn't see me, and when she'd ask me what I was doing I'd tell her that I'd be up there in a minute I just had to do something.
We went back and forth a few times with these questions, as I tried to hurry up and eat the darn ice cream...I swore I was being careful each and every time I answered her.
Then finally she yelled out...."Mommy just hurry and and finish eating and get up here!"
Big C and I rolled around laughing for ages...there was I thinking I was being all secretive like a covert mission and she knew it all along!

Yesterday we went to Target, she got a drink, she drank a lot of it, I told her she couldn't have any more, but she could hold it.
Then Big C took over pushing the shopping cart and Baby C asked daddy to open up the drink.
He was unaware (like most daddies!) that I'd already told her no more.
When she was done drinking, she proudly turned to me and said ..."Mommy look I just had some drink".
I told her "I know you did, even after I told you that you couldn't have any more, but that's because daddy didn't know you weren't supposed to have any more, so you don't need to throw it in my face"
She turned to me and said "Mommy I wouldn't throw my juice in your face, that's bad!"

I'm sure they've been here before!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of my mom trying to hide chocolate from me and my sister when we were kids...but she was eating it in the car. She tried to speak in "mm-hmmm" syllables, and finally busted up laughing when we screamed "HEY, YOU'RE EATING CHOCOLATE!"
ReplyDeleteNo hiding chocolate breath!
Are we ALL that smart at that age? If so, what happens to us? Baby C is quite the knowledgeable diplomat already.
