My mother hates that I get so many hand me downs for Baby C, she feels it infringes on her right to splurge and buy everything pink that she can find!
I do feel bad for her but at least she understands that closets are ONLY made but so big.
But whenever my mother does break down and buy she always stumbles across the cutest clothes. She always finds those items that I just wish would fit Baby C for life and never get too small.
It's more often that not a dress that I feel compelled to make sure gets worn more than once during the season.
My mother has my flare, my taste and my eye. It's that simple but not too simple taste, it's that "make a brown bag" look good taste. I guess I should say I have my mothers taste!
This year she found two wool dresses, they feel like cashmere they're so soft, and I have to pray to the lord I don't shrink them in the wash, my mother knows wool and I have a love hate relationship. Actually anything that can't go in the washer and then straight in the dryer, I have an on again off again relationship with. And I'll be darned if I'm taking a 3 year olds dress to the cleaner after each wear.
She also bought two dresses that I call "Little House on the Prairie" dresses which I LOVE, I adore that old school simple dress look where the child's cute face has to jazz up the rest of the look or it just doesn't work.
My mother has the same mind as me, in that when she sees something she likes, she has to buy it in every color they have, for fear she might miss out on something!!! It only back fires 10 years later when the item is so out of date you simply can't wear it any more and you find yourself donating 6 of the same item to charity and you feel a great loss!!!
Anyway she only bought four dresses and I wanted to take pics to send to her but from watching this mini photo shoot trying to get the right picture to send you'd swear she sent about 7 dresses!!!
First I have to say it's amazing seeing Baby C grow up and get so big. I remember when I first started reading your blog and she was a little thing. Now she's getting so big. WOW
ReplyDeleteOk secondly I absolutely love the white dress the most. I can't wait until I have this baby so that I can dress her in cute outfits. Whitnee is 12 now and she wants no part of getting all dressed up.
She is growing fast!
ReplyDeleteThose dresses are lovely, your Mum has good taste. Those dresses are classics.
My daughter always gives me my grand daughter's special dresses to hand wash, just in case! The latest is a pink satin Monsoon party dress, gorgeous!
I think Baby C is precious!!!! OMG I love those dresses too. I am "mad for plaid"!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I have a hate/hate relationship w/ wool. I always, always shrink wool sweaters.
In answer to your question:
ReplyDeleteYes - she is dancing -I guess I should have blogged about that. She is only taking Tap though. If we can just make it til' May I am not sure if i'll enroll her next year.
