I decided that Baby C was old enough to possibly sit still in a swivel chair at the beauty salon, so we tested the theory this past Friday.
I brought her in, sat her in the chair and she deliberately slid herself down to the floor.
I sat her in again, and again she deliberately slid herself onto the floor.
I looked at her sideways, explained to her that she was a big girl now, and that mommy sometimes needs a break from doing her hair.
All the while the African braiders were talking in their own language probably saying to each other "I knew this wasn't going to work!"
I think Baby C must have understood them and wanted to prove them wrong, so I sat her in the chair again and this time she didn't move!!!
Yeah I had to bribe her with starburst candy and my ipod but she sat there for 50 minutes like a trooper and I got a well earned break!
HAHAHA, "looked at her sideways." I love that the mom stank eye is universal. All moms get it. All moms can give it. All kids understand it.

Look at that first picture. Can her eyes get any more beautiful? That last picture looks like she's in pain. Does that braiding hurt?
ReplyDeleteYep. That is too funny. Look at the peaceful look on her face as she listens to the iPod. I don't know what it is about headphones and little kids, but they definitely respond to the music.
ReplyDeleteHair looks nice.
so did they braid her hair or add some extentions? I love braids, it it's still "together" can you take a pic. of the back?
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
