Just because it's cold outside, and blanketed with snow, doesn't mean you can't enjoy a good homemade ice pop.
It just means instead of it dripping down your child arms and onto the summer grass, it's going to drip down their arm and stain your carpet, couch, go all over the bathroom light switch as they go to wash their hands, all over the faucet as they turn it on, and all over the soap at they lather themselves up!!!
Baby C kept asking to make ice pops, she found the container in a draw while I was cooking one day and was determined to find out how this colorful contraption worked.
Of course my cooking just didn't permit the time it takes to concoct, blend, puree and freeze all that goes into a home made ice pop, so I was thankful and skeptical when Big C chose to step in.
At first when I caught him bending down riffling through the liquor cabinet I questioned if he was the right man for the job!!! But he popped back up with an assortment of cordials which I never would have thought of adding.
And after a dash of this, a dash of that, some blended fruit (you know the fruit that you grab right before it goes off), and some juice they were finally done.
Of course all the while my doubting in him and watching them dubiously, resulted in them finishing with their ice pops before I was even done with dinner, which was not supposed to be the case.
I really wasn't sure how they'd come out, heck I wasn't sure IF they'd even come out with the stuff he'd put in, but they did look pretty, if that says anything.
And I have to concede they were the best home made ice pops I've ever taste, way better than anything I've put together before, and I think the goofy look on her face says it all. Dad's "do indeed" know how to make ice pops:
yum!! that pic is so cute!!
ReplyDeletecute! we used to make those all the time as kids. We'd just use Kool-aide or orange juice though. Big C's sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteYep she's a good advertiser. I'm sold on the product. Now we all need the recipe.
ReplyDeleteShe is PRECIOUS! If Big C IS looking to make some ice pops with something from the liquor cabinet, send them my way. ;) These kids are makin' me thirsty...
