Tail Spin, Hershey Park, and way too many pictures!

I feel like my life has been in a tail spin for the last month of more. My step daughter has been with us for the past month and my house is a wreck.

I didn't get the memo on teenage girls never putting things back where they got them from, so I just threw my hands in the air and gave up cleaning up after everyone!!! Hence my house looks like the Wizard of Oz just flew through.

When my step daughter isn't leaving things in her wake she's arguing with Baby C, we keep telling her to just ignore the rants of a 4 year old but she insists on responding and remarking on her every move and the backlash is never ending.

She met her match with this 4 year old. My step daughter has two brothers at home, but girls are a totally different breed than boys and I think she's learning that. Plus I think it's pay back for the pain in the a$$ that she was at 4, but of course she doesn't remember those days!!

So along with my house being a mess, all routine is completely off....I read a night time book to Baby C last night for the first time in 3 weeks! Yikes!! All homework on site words and writing has completely gone out the window.

I haven't even taken my multi vitamin in about 2 weeks, by the time I lay my head on the pillow and reach over to take my vitamins my eyes have closed and I'm dead alseep.

I can't find a thing in my purse and find myself digging around in it for hours, it's like that Mary Poppins bag that has no bottom...I just don't have the time to empty it out and last night I went looking for my phone and came up with a pink bubble gum car!!!

I've been wearing the same nail polish on my toes since June 12th!!! You can imagine how bad it looks as the nail grows and the white nail polish gets further and further away from the quick!! The nail polish that WAS on my fingers, I was able to gradually pick off all ten fingers during every work meeting I've had since June 12th!!

Some how in the midst of all insanity we got invited to Hershey Park this past Saturday and I really got to test my new iPhone to it's fullest potential.

There's a Hershey Park app that gave me a list of rides based on my Baby C's height, it let me know when a ride was close by, let me know which rides where closed and let me check them off as we went along, along with an interactive map, I was in app heaven and didn't want for a thing.

Now if the Hershey App could have cleaned my house, read Baby C a bed time book, and removed the nail polish  from my toes I would have put on Mother Theresa's habit and saved the world.

A few pictures from Hershey Park are about all I can muster at this moment, I figured it was a way to tell the tale of the day without having to type too much! Yes I'm lazy right now..shoot me!!

We knew the day had forecast a light rain but we hoped that would mean shorter lines and it did indeed, it also gave reason to buy a customary memorabilia piece of clothing which I always love.

I loved the measurement station that meant Baby C could figure out by herself which rides she could go on and which were no goes!!! She was a Reese's Baby! :0)

First ride up was the Balloons which to me looked a little uneventful but it was the first ride of the day so they were game for anything...now the next ride Starship something or other was a different story...

This Starship ride span too fast and too high, I had to do a double take when I got off to see if Reese's was the right height...there's no way I would have let my child go on that ride alone and I'm no scardy cat, I love the upside down twister roller coasters!!

The kids truly were patient for each and every ride, though with the weather not being a blistering 100 degrees the lines weren't that long anyway.

I swear in this picture it looks like she's driving just like her MAMA!!!

After a while she was totally done with pictures, I was trying to take one of her on every ride, lord knows why...like I have time to scrapbook every ride!!!

Eventually it was time for a well earned ice cream break...even the ice cream she wanted to eat in peace without mommy snapping away. One day when she's sitting at a table surrounded in embellishments looking for just the right picture...she'll understand.

We went right onto Zoo America (I swear that Park's one of the biggest I've ever been to, the zoo is a days adventure in itself, let alone a stop along while you're at an amusement park!) Anyway, of course Baby C wanted NOTHING to do with the kind animal above!! And if I hadn't looked inside it's mouth and watched it's tongue quiver as it breathed I would have sworn it wasn't real.

After all the adventure in the zoo, I had to bribe her into standing next to a wooden bear, you can see the grimace on her face!

I bribed her with doing this machine where the "idiot parent" pays 0.51 cents to flatten and received a penny in return!! Still wondering who won that bribe!

We saved "Chocolate World" for last where the kids got to pick the ingredients for their own chocolate bar, watch it being made during all it's processes and design the packaging!

Kudos to the inventor of this part of the park. Both myself and my friend spent most of the time checking out the servers at the bottom of the event trying to figure out how the entire thing was built and how all the chocolate bars didn't get mixed up along the way!

Baby C was TOO excited when her chocolate designed bar came out, either that or sheer exhaustion was taking over!

Due to the invention of facebook a friend remarked that I just COULD NOT leave Hershey Park with out tasting their chocolate milk shake. Me not being the biggest fan of Hershey chocolate was not that enthused but was terrified I was missing out on something....so I went ahead and bought one, well we bought TWO...I mean why come this far and not try the strawberry as well as the chocolate right?

I must say it was indeed the BEST chocolate and strawberry milkshake I've ever had. It was actually difficult for me to discern which one was better.

We took one quick pic with the Hershey race car then we headed out the door, where we came upon this beauty!!

Don't even ask what kind of flower it is, as I clearly don't know, but can you believe the picture was taken with my iPhone!!!

I managed to bribe her into taking another picture, and i think the sheer exhaustion really took it's toll and she started to get giddy...see picture below for proof.

And we finally said goodnight to Chocolate World and Hershey Park....

We stayed at a hotel only 15 minutes away and after the days events no matter how tired I was we still HAD to take showers...and of course that woke everyone up and Baby C convinced me that tasting the chocolate bar she'd just made would help her sleep better!!!  PLEASE!!!

Yeah I was born yesterday but I still gave in, sometimes after having such a wonderful day you just want to let them begin and end the day with a smile and you figure what's the worst that could happen!! RIGHT.....

The worst that could happen is, sugar over load and a kid that's up for the next two hours...that's the worst that could happen!!!

The next day before we hit the road we hit up Applbees and Baby C seemed to be in rare form and gave me some crazy going home pictures all the while holding her new lion cub that she got from the zoo and apt fully named HERSHEY!!!

  1. Those photos are great. I love the ice cream face!

Funny I don't like Hershey chocolate either. My boss always brought some back from America there every year. I kept on trying it every time but usually I spat it out. Maybe once you've eaten Cadburys and Thorntons chocolate, that's it!

Hope you've recovered from that visit. Teenage girls!!!!!!

  2. Fashion diva the last three shots in her black and white outfit.

What a fun and DELICIOUS time you must have had. Too many pics? No way. Never too many.

My 15 year old grandson and his 8 year old sister behave like your step daughter and baby C. We try to tell them that they are just baiting each other but it falls on deaf ears and one can set the other in a tail spin at a moment's carefully placed word. Yikes!

  4. Those pictures are boss. Especially the one where your daughter is smiling next to the flower. Priceless.

This post reminded me of the movie Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory. My sister and I would watch it as kids and wish that we could take a visit and eat ALL the chocolate we wanted.

    I'm serious.
