I like the new chapter in life

Even though I still feel very stagnant in life, procrastinating on the things I truly want to do, I am very happy with one new chapter in my life in regards to food.

When we found out that Big C had diabetes (coupled with a myriad of other things) I saw it as a positive in our life where as, and rightfully so as it's daily challenge for him and not me, Big C saw it as a negative and a big blow for someone who'd always scrapped out the inside of the bagel even BEFORE it became the cool thing to do (bagel thins).

The positive for me was the forcing of the hand to eat healthier. Everything that a diabetic should eat in moderation we SHOULD be eating in moderation to begin with!!

I feel as if all of a sudden my eyes are wide open and I love what I'm seeing

# I love my little garden out back producing "pesticide free" fruit and vegetable

# I love the excitement I get thinking of the different types of bread I'll make whenever I finally get a bread maker

# I love the swapping of ideas, recipes, articles, blogs and movies between friends who've recently joined the bandwagon or lost their marbles which ever fits :0)

# I love Chrissy's "soap box" rants as it lets me know either, I'm crazy or we're both crazy but either way I'm not wondering down this yellow brick road alone

#I love knowing that I'm not perfect and that all of this is a work in progress. I still sent my husband out for gelato last night and I still can't pronounce all the ingredients on the back of it, but until I make my own gelato I'm ok with it

#I love watching "Fat, Sick & Nearly Dying" and finally "getting" it, and wanting to pull that Jack Lalanne Juicer out from under the cob webbed sink, I still have yet to watch Food Inc

#I love reading this article on "The Shocking Truth About Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice" the SAME week that I'm watching "Fat, Sick & Nearly Dying" and feeling like someones holding a big old billboard in front of my face with the same message on it and there's no way I can ignore it

#Lastly I love that I got email this ad from my local grocery store and now I realize that everything on it is suspect...

The chicken I wouldn't touch with a ten foot barge pole, that poor chicken was probably fed so much crap/steroids it thought it was a dog, the poor grapes probably got sprayed at least 37 times with persitcides, the orange juice...well "The Shocking Truth About Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice", the cookies while I love them I can't pronounce have the crap on the back so I'm not quite sure what I love when I say I love them, but that Green Way Fabric Softener I'm definitely interested in, if only could figure out what to spend $10 on in order to get it...<Shucks>

  1. Okay now is the perfect time to get a couple of chickens for Baby C to raise. She will enjoy taking care of them and your family will enjoy the very healthy free-range chicken eggs. Urban chickens are quite the thing these days. You do NOT eat these chickens, only their eggs.

When my husband sees a coupon for a good buy on something he loves if you buy $10 or $20 worth of other stuff, he will bring home lots of things we don't need so he could SAVE on the thing he wanted. Yikes!

  2. Your email address has disappeared from my address book. Too weird. I'd love to sit and talk with you about some of this.
