In 1st Grade Baby C started getting spelling tests. This past week she told me to surprise her. So I took monuments from around the globe and added a 1st Grader fact to the bag.
Sometimes the bags would come home completed other days they wouldn't, but honestly I was impressed that she even brought a simple brown paper bag home.
I quickly learnt that she doesn't really have time to play games during snack time and that's why they'd often come home not completed, which was perfectly fine.
But she said she loved the drawings and pictures that accompanied each spelling game and her friends loved them to And hence the brown bag morphed into something more than just spelling words.
I started to do bags based on holidays valentines, Christmas, and special bags for her birthday week.
Sometimes her teacher asks to borrow the infamous brown lunch bags. I've heard she shows them to the art teacher but besides that we're not quite sure what she does with them or who she shows them to.
This week she asked me to surprise her so I did monuments from around the globe with little 1st Grader type facts....the Eiffel Tower didn't come home last night so we're wondering what or who her teacher is showing that one to. Big C says she's started her own Brown Lunch Bag Business on the side!
She's started reminding me that she doesn't get snacks in 2nd Grade and that she only has a few more weeks left of brown bags. I think we're both going to miss the brown bag chapter of 1st Grade!
Oh how cute. I love that idea. By the way, Happy Mother's Day.
