Short and Sweet

I'll try anything in order to keep blogging and this time around I thought maybe if I keep it short and sweet and not a laundry list of things I want to blog about I might get a post out.....

We had a yard sale a few weeks ago trying to purge all of Baby C's old clothes...between my age and Big C's health issues I have to face the facts that I think Baby C will be an only child from me. My friends keep teasing me that as soon as I've sold her last piece of clothing I'll end up pregnant...I couldn't even imagine that.

We did really well...I think I got nearly $200 for some of her clothes and Baby C scored $37 on lemonade alone! We barely sold even 1/8th of her clothes but we only sold on Saturday as we were scared it was going to rain on Sunday and yet people still came to the house knocking on the door as it drizzled outside.

Even a week later a woman came to the house remembering that we had a yard sale a few weekends ago and wanted to know if we still had baby items as her mother just fostered twin 5 week old boys. I scribbled down her name and number and promised I'd get back to her which I will.

I'm kind of bummed that I was so busy and ill prepared that I didn't get a shot of Baby C and her lemonade stand though....next time.

A Haitan couple came in and just swooped up about 20 dresses that they said they will take back to Haiti...I let them get those for steal of a price and only charged them $45.

To make it easy on myself and to get the stuff sold I must say I just priced all tops at $1 and bottoms at $2 and coats at $3. I know I could have charged more but it's a yard sale for heavens sakes people are trying to find a bargain and a bargain is what I gave them!!

I plan on having at least 2 or more yard sales before the weather turns bad it's just hard finding weekends when we're not busy....

  1. I gave away most of my children's old clothes to family members with younger children. We are big on hand-me-downs. There are a few precious baby things I could not part with and don't know what will ever come of them. I just like to look at them once in a while.

  2. Those are some pretty good deals!!! If I had a little girl, I'd be online hounding you for first pick!
It would be nice to give baby C a sibling (she wouldn't be the baby then) so never say never. My mum had my younger brother when she was 40 (not planned) so don't give up. And remember there are lots of ways to add to your family, lots of children in need of a good loving home xx
