A few months ago Jude wrote a post of her creative escapades "Crafty girl needs staple gun...", her post couldn't have come at a better time as I was desperately seeking alternative to buying a new jewelry box and though I don't have much jewelry, my current jewelry box was bursting at the seams.
The traditional jewelry boxes seemed so "traditional" and while I'm normally a "traditional" girl, this time I wanted to step outside the box....plus the cost of some of these bigger jewelry boxes was ridiculous...I mean who pays $50 and better for something to house $10 worth of shiny crap...
Anyhoo after reading Jude's witty post she sparked the creative side and me and I hit the thrift store and found these lovelys for about $4
I did everything Jude told me to do, I carefully removed the glass and saved it for a future project, clorox wiped the entire thing down, sprayed painted it with a few coats, and then tackled the chicken wire, which like Jude expressed "You should know, chicken wire is SHARP".
And this was my finished product which I am very happy with though I kind of wished I'd snagged another horizontal frame for JUST bracelets as they're kind of lost behind all the plastic necklaces...but I didn't want to take "another" project over the top and end up hating it later:
Thanks Jude!
that turned out great!! you have lots of necklaces ;-)
