They pay me a salary for this!

I have a interesting small project to do. I have to find a good "corporate" blogging site for my company to start a blog!

I know, me of all people, the one who hardly even posts each week let along each day!

So I'm doing research right now and sadly it looks like blogger might NOT make the cut...too non-corporate!

Anyway during my research I'm finding really interesting tidbits that I thought I might share, (I'll update as I read and find them):

  • half of all online consumers have never heard of blogging (what where the heck have you been living under a rock! (Yes I will add my own commentary to these factoids as I see fit :0)))

  • Young adults read blogs three times more frequently than older adults. Not only are young adults more likely to read blogs, but they are also nine times as likely to have their own personal blog. Young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 make up 25% of all adult bloggers but only 9% of the general adult online population. As they age, these young adults will bring their blogging habits with them into the mainstream. (Oh no I'm too old to make up the 25% :0()

  • Blog users — online consumers who read and/or write blogs — are more likely to be male, affluent, and broadband-connected. And blog users have these attractive demographics despite being significantly younger than non-bloggers. (So I'm affluent now am I, well why didn't someone tell me that ages ago!)

  • Allow Employees' Personal Blogs, But Provide Formal Guidelines - It's inevitable — your employees will blog, with or without your permission. Although you could clamp down and forbid personal blogs outright, you probably can't stop them — employees will likely start and post the same comments in an anonymous blog. We recommend that, rather than prohibit blogging, companies provide personal blogging guidelines for employees, similar to policies that outline the proper use of corporate email, with disciplinary action or dismissal as the ultimate sanction. (Corey this one was for you! Print it out and leave it on your bosses desk!)

Ok so that I don't get sued I'm going to at least credit where I'm getting all this asinine information from! It's coming from "Charlene Li ~ Blogging: Bubble Or Big Deal?", "Debbie Weil ~ The Corporate Blogging Book"...list will get updated as I mosie on!

On a completely unrelated note, did you see Parisa get pushed on "Real World: Sydney" last night...I totally thought Parisa was going to be the one that did the pushing...I can't wait to see if someone goes home. You know the rules.

Oh and I really thought Spencer and Heidi broke up on "The Hills", I should have known better than to read into what the commercials were trying to make me believe, evil commercials!

So yeah there you have it...I watch "The Hills" and "Real World"...I still don't understand why I don't fit into that 18-24 group! :0)
