Ruby Foos in the City

A week ago we met up with Auntie Aly in the city at Ruby Foos in New York, if you haven't been check it out the next time you're in the city...it's a really nice ambiance and good food.

We actually met on the same day "Sex and the City" premiered so as I couldn't go and see the movie I told myself we were doing "Ruby Foos in the City"!!! (Now mind you I don't even watch Sex and the City but the darn movie got so much hype I swore I was missing something!)

Auntie Aly bought Baby C her belated birthday and christmas gifts and also gifts from Aly's parents as well. The gift from Aly's parents couldn't have come at a better time as during the meal the clouds opened up and the heavens poured for a brief moment, and Ms. Thing got to become a new yorker a the drop of a dime, doesn't she look so Ruby Foos in the City! LOL

Anyway we had a blast as we hadn't seen Auntie Aly in maybe nearly a year....wow that's a darn shame now that I think about it. Maybe it was sooner than that and I just can't recall. At first Baby C wanted nothing much to do with Auntie Aly, she would barely lift her hand to say hello, though she'd talked about her the entire trip into the city! What do they say "Never work with kids or animals" I BELIEVE THEM!

Then out of the blue we all made a ladies visit to you know where and my little thing said she didn't want to hold my hand she wanted to hold Auntie Aly's!! Now I tell you there was NO warming up period, there was NO a little tickle here a little tickle there...JUST out of the clear blue she just dropped back from my hand to hold Auntie Aly's? What the heck happened between the greeting, the lunch and the start of the trip to the little girls room? If she was a little older I'd ask her "What did Auntie Aly do to win your favor that darn quick?"

Needless to say Auntie Aly was all the rage by the end of the day especially when Aly's parents brought up the cool idea to ride the BIG OLE Ferris Wheel at Toys R Us at Times Square! How cool are those parents!!

Needless to say a good time was had by all!

Real quick side note: sometimes I do think my child is daft and then I remember she's only been on this earth for 2 years now how would I expect her to just know everything...anyway after she unwrapped the umbrella I told her to hold it up so I could take a picture of her and the umbrella....ONLY my child would hold it up like this!

  5. Ok....Itty Bitty and I are loving Baby C...now if I can just trick her Mommy into flying down here and giving Itty Bitty the Baby C hair-do, we'd be on point! Help me achieve that style please? Email me.

  8. Boy, sounds like ya'll had a fun time in the city. And don't worry, ALL kids hold their "new stuff" up in front of their faces like that...shoot, some adults I know still do it :-).

  10. Poor Baby C. Another story to add to her embarrassment when she is older! Too cute!

She is a lucky girl to go into The City for outings. Our nearest city has 1500 population and we go to one of two restaurants or a Dollar Store, or one of two local gas station/deli combinations or the Flea Market. There is not one stop light in our town unless you count the flashing lights when the train is coming.

  11. I love all of the pictures. I went to that Toys R Us once and the line was so long for the ferris wheel that we didn't get to go on.
