Honesty

There's a man at my job selling candy for his kids school, a big old box of 30 pieces. The guy merely placed the box with a white envelope stating the price and fund raising event on a table in front of one of our pantries.

I could bet my house that when all the candy is gone and the box finished that he'll have exactly $30 in his envelope and won't be short not a SINGLE dollar, even though the box was completely unattended the ENTIRE week.

It amazes me how honest people can be at times, it kind of restores my hope for brief moment....even though someone keeps stealing the salt shakers from the main kitchen, go figure???

  1. It's amazing how people will be honest about things like that, but I guess since most of the time those types of fundraisers are for someone's child people think twice about taking something and not paying for it.

  2. We had an honor box of snacks in our employee lunch room. It never came up missing a dime until it came up missing ALL the money. It seems a customer had been inviting himself to drink coffee in our lunch room and read the paper. Of course we knew who the thief was but couldn't prove it and the honor box was removed.
