Boo at the Zoo

We ventured out to Boo at the Zoo yesterday for a play date with friends.

The website mentioned the free admittance of children if they came dressed in a costume, so I begged Baby C to throw a Cinderella dress up dress over her jeans and sweat shirt in order to save us $12!!!

Hey, think what you might, but it cost $32 combined for Big C and myself to get it in, so saving $12 at least bought us entry to the 4D Dora and Diego Adventure Show which of course cost extra!

Don't you hate that, when you pay an admittance fee and then STILL get hit up with other fees once you're in!!

It was a different experience being at the zoo NOT looking for animals, but instead looking for Halloween activities dotted around the zoo landscape.

While waiting in line for the hay ride, the little one found herself a stick, a patch of dirt, and an imagination. All at the loathing of daddy the germaphobe!!! He poked me in the side and told me to tell her to get up of the ground and throw the stick away. I turned to him and told him if he wanted her to do that he'd have to tell her himself!

He shot me a dirty look and proceeded to let her actually BE a child. Of course I had to add insult to injury and bent down to take a picture of her enjoying herself.

Last I checked dirt didn't kill anyone!!!

The hay ride was cute, and scary "enough" for a four year old, plus it let us see some of the animals of the zoo without walking, which is always a plus for my lazy behind!

But like I said I really didn't come for the animals, more for the boo at the zoo and the company of friends:

We ended up all going out for dinner afterward and taking goofy pictures,

It's crazy how much they've all grown:
