I always knew Bank of America sucked and as the years go on the evidence that mounts against them in terms of sucking grows exponentially. This morning on the
Today show they said that several banks are going to start charging customers fees for inactivity and not carrying a big enough balance....WTH!!! And of course one of those banks is Bank of America.
I hate Bank of America and yes I do know HATE is a strong word and that you should be careful of the words that leave your mouth. But I've never heard ANY good come from Bank of America and this one just tops it for me.
Anyway why get myself all rallied up about it. I don't have a Bank of America credit card, bank account or loan but I just hate seeing big giants stamp on the little people.

Anyhoo...moving along I went to see
Law Abiding Citizen on saturday ALL BY MYSELF! I love going to the movies by myself. Don't get me wrong I love going with Big C and Baby C but it's a novelty to go by myself. It takes me back to my childhood or younger days....being an only child I often found myself shopping or going to the movies by myself and seemed to love it. I'd bump into friends on the street and they'd look around and ask me who am I out with and they'd get a look of shock when I'd tell them I was out by myself. I guess for many it's hard to conceive the enjoyment of being alone while shopping or going to the movies.
Law Abiding Citizen was really good...I sat on the edge of my seat for practically the entire movie, and with hindsight being 20/20 I feel rather stupid as the movie was in many parts very predictable. I guess it was the whole atmosphere and sense of being alone that got me into the moment the director wanted me to be in.

I washed my daughters hair in record time this Sunday. I don't know what it's like for others but washing african american hair can sometimes be the biggest chore. When washing Baby C's hair, once the conditioners in YOU HAVE to comb through it and section it into four big braids. Then AND ONLY then do I try to rinse the conditioner out with the braids still in place. I know what you're thinking..."What about the conditioner that's all stuck in between the briad"...well it just has to stay there, and I just hope that it's making the hair even softer than normal!! LOL. If I try to do it the other way around it can get very tangled and hurt when I comb it. I then let it air dry in the four braids and all is good. After her bath and hair washing experience we sat down and watched the movie"
Imagine That" with Eddie Murphy. I thought she'd love the movie, which she says she did, but I'm not sure how much she understood. I felt it was a little above her comprehension level but I guess any aspects she gleamed from it would have been great so I can't really judge. I've never seen the little girl from this movie in anything else and she was too cute, she even has a cute little name, not that I have the foggest on how to pronounce it
Yara Shahidi ----------------> )That's her over there on your right, damn blogger)

Sunday afternoon I was flipping the channels and ran into
Reservation Road. I think I initially stopped flipping when I saw Elle Fanning. I was always a big fan of Dakota Fanning when she was small and i think the sisters look sooo much like each other it always amazes me. I think I was only a few minutes into the movie when I suddenly realized what the movie was about and how the lawyer was obviously involved in the hit and run and I realized I couldn't spend the entire afternoon crying and I refused to watch the movie. Sometimes you're in the mood for a tear jerker and sometimes you're not...this was one of those NOT days.
Believe it or not I found the time to do read a magazine this weekend AND do 2 scrapbook layouts, 2 birthday cards, 1 Thinking of you card, start the mass production of 15 birthday cards for November and December birthday, and baked a chocolate cake from scratch, (no box cake here)!! Mind you it doesn't seem to negate the fact that I didn't cook any breakfast, lunch or dinner the entire weekend but at least I "Let them eat cake" (Sorry really bad
Marie Antoinette joke I know!!
Anyhoo....No I'm not super woman and neither from my wrap sheet am I Martha Stewart, but when I find a winning birthday card layout I just start repeating it over and over with different colors and different embellishments, then I just pray that I don't send 2 cards to the same household in the same month, lest they'll be on to me!
While in this moment of pleasure of perusing my magazine
RealSimple, I came across a cool website. It's called
repairpal.com and their claim seems like a good one though I haven't checked it out as yet. It states.... "Your mechanic declares that you need to replace your catalytic converter. How can you tell if he's naming a fair price? You could enter your car's vital stat, your zip code, and the type of maintenance into this free web tool, and it instantly gives you a price range for the job at dealerships and independent auto shops in your area.
Of course I have no idea how much the companies might pay for their names to pop up in the search results but it surely seems better then spending a morning getting quotes by phone especially for someone who HATES using the phone.
I guess it's also not a good thing that I've used the word HATE twice in one post, ahh C'est la vie, that's about all for this boring life so far, I guess I'm off to find out what titillating things you've been up to.
You've got some strong opinions going on there but there is nothing wrong with that!
ReplyDeleteseriously? now we are being punished for NOT being in debt??? this country is losing its ever loving mind!
ReplyDeleteLaw Abiding Citizen has to be the best movie of 2009!!!
ReplyDeleteHave to say I haven't heard of anyone doing that here in the UK. I think they're just glad to get any business from you. They got hammered from customers at the beginning of the recession and they're still getting lots of bad media publicity.
ReplyDeleteThey're trying to woo us with improved customer service like having call centres in the UK and going back to opening the banks on Saturdays again.
I'd certainly cancel any card that did that. What a cheek banks charging for not having enough money in an account. Just vote with your feet or maybe I should say your pocket and move your cash to a nicer bank. Surely there must be one around! I'd make I told them why too.
Sounds like a good TV programme could be made out of this. After all the US banks got everyone into this economic mess, it's their fault we don't have so much money now. What a cheek!
Credit Unions are the way to go. I had similar experiences with Wachovia a couple of years ago, and I final said ENOUGH and closed my accounts. All my business is now with my local credit union - and I will never go back to a regular bank.
