Panicked because I'd left Baby C inside the house with the front door open and screen door unlocked (Great start to being a single parent for the month!, can't even remember to lock a door!)
Excited because the only persons head lights that should adorn our drive way are Big C's!!
And yep he was home...but only for one more night!!!
The guys and the union had fought bravely for one more night, using the toll issue as their stake in the ground. Some of the guys literally had to call their wives and ask them to bring them the $40 toll money. I knew times were hard but having to call someone for the toll money that's when you REALLY know times are hard...either that or you don't know the pin number to your ATM card. That's when I realized the severity of the situation all around. I had only thought of single parents and what would they do. Or people on medication what would they do if they didn't have a 30 day supply. Or merely people whose family depended on them daily.
I hadn't thought what if you literally lived pay check to pay check and simply didn't have the $40? Heck $80 really these poor buggers have got to get back home!
Anyhoo, Big C was indeed home and had Chinese take out in one had and was hugging me hard with the other. It was soo good to have him home if only for one more night.
We put up the Halloween decorations together, I'd procrastinated all the month of October, and when we got the Buffalo news I was too depressed to even contemplate it. But his presence sparked the spirit in me and they are all up.
I even found out that a friend of mine, her husband is ALREADY up in Buffalo so she's coming over to our house Saturday to trick or treat. If it wasn't for her I wasn't even going to take Baby C....the thought of going alone and returning to an empty house was just daunting. And the thought of opening the door to random strangers to hand out candy was just sheer terror! That's the part that Big C always did....if he opened the door to a stranger and the stranger wanted to pick a fight that's on them!!! LOL
I did a few layouts a few days ago during my alone time, but never posted the pics!!! LOL (No alone time for me for a while).

I call this one The Big Pink chair! I remember when Baby C was small and before I'd watched the documentary "Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price" we were in Walmart and we found this big pink fluffy chair, we both looked at each other, plopped her down and started taking pictures! The look on her face says it all..."WTH!".
This one doesn't have a name it merely states, "Can we hurry up and get inside of the children's museum as opposed to standing outside in the freezing cold snapping pictures for your Crapbooking (and yes I meant to leave the s off)"

Looking at these pictures I sooo need to figure out HOW to take pictures of objects like cards and layouts. These pics look terrible and really don't do the layout justice...I'd have to scan them to get them to even look right. Any tips are greatly appreciated. What's the point in having a supped up camera and don't have the foggiest idea on how to use it!!! Oy vey!
So glad he made it home for one more night. I know this is so hard for you :(
