The focusing eye of a little child...

We met friends for lunch in the city this past Sunday, I had to beg Baby C to let me dress her and she hated every inch of her outfit. I thought she looked "city chic" and Big C loved her outfit and made a deal with her that if 3 people commented on her outfit he'd give her THREE DOLLARS!

I know what you're thinking..."Way to go at bribing a 5 year old!" ...but it worked and she scored $3 and was proud of it! When she got up to $2 she turned around to Big C and said "That woman smiled at me, and it was an expressive smile, does that count?"

I told him he had to give her the $3 just for using the word expressive! Of course hindsight is 20/20 and I doubt we'll play that game again, we DON'T have a desire for her to want to "collect money based on the amount of people that give her attention."

My old friend from college was doing her "farewell tour" as she likes to call it. She's soon to be leaving Atlanta, GA for Kinshasa, Congo DRC for 18 months and we met up with her and her friends (now my friends, insert evil grin) for lunch at a quaint little place called The Little Giant the food was delish, I had something called the "Truckers Breakfast"

And we scoffed down some yummilicious "buttermilk-chive biscuit with honey butter", I think I'd return to the city for the biscuits alone!

And to think on the drive to the city Baby C couldn't for the life of her remember meeting them last summer for lunch as well, but soon after they arrived I think it all came flooding back and she basked in the gathering.

Baby C took to taking pics while we ate, and talked, and ate some more....dare I say she's getting quite good....and it's amazing to me what her little eyes focus on....

My all time favorite picture came as we were waiting for our friends to arrive, I just ♥ this picture. I think if I was actually in this picture I might be tempted to use it as a Christmas card, I think it's the way her foot juts out with excitement and giddiness that touches me the most and for once I can see that little gap in her teeth reminding me of how quickly it's all passing by.

  6. Love these photos, absolutely. Your daughter appears to own an eye for photography.

I've always wanted to travel abroad every since I missed the opportunity to be deployed in Germany.

I agree - would definitely make a great Xmas card and your daughter is dressed like the little grown lady she is.

  11. Excuse me but this is all way too cute! The post is filled with so much love. Tell Little C that a random self described fashionista says her outfit was a winner.
