Big C's grandfather is BellSouth Honoree

Now that baby C is in my life...a family tree seems more important that it did this time last year.

A new baby makes you wonder where "you" came from and the importance of recording where you're going, and what you've done in your life. (Or haven't done!)

It reminds me of people in life who know what will be engraved on their headstone when they pass on to the next life.

Big C's grandfather is in the 2007 BellSouth calendar and I couldn't be more proud of Big C for this...I mean I am proud of his grandfather, but I've never met the man, so I'm vicariously proud via Big C, if that makes sense.

When Big C told me about his grandfather last night his chest was inflated while he tried to talk nonchalantly about the entire affair. As he relayed the life of his grandfather joining the navy at 14, I could see Bic C reflect on his own navy career in amazement at the correlation in their lives.

Big C isn't that close to his grandfather but you can see the pride he has in his accomplishments...you can see the will to make his own children proud of him...and the determination to leave a legacy in this world no matter what.
