G-mail, hotmail and life in general

What was your first email account and do you still have it?

So can anyone tell me what's so good about G-mail?

I see a lot of people have an email account with google but I don't know what's so good about it that I'd want to switch from yahoo.

My first ever email account was through Hotmail...I still have it in fact but that's only because my Palm Treo only uses microsoft accounts to send pictures...annoying I tell you!!! I would have deleted the account if it wasn't for that...I HATE hotmail...there spam filter must be on a permanent vacation...all I ever get is tons and tons of junk mail. Junk mail is the reason I opened up an account with yahoo...I don't seem to get hardly any junk through them, though I've heard the opposite from many people.

I mean I understand that if you use your email address to sign up for things, it gets sold and hence all your junk mail...but I created a specific subscription email account with yahoo, just for signing up for things and i still don't get any junk!!!

At the last account I had....9 email addresses!!! I know that's kind of crazy but I use all of them...

1. The subsription email address: this one's for when you buy something online and they make you create an account first...or my 2 peas or blogger accounts go to this email address!!
2. The job email address: this one's for when I'm looking for a new job (hopefully no time soon) I can have those job agents like Monster.com send all their a billion and one emails here.
3. The work email address: this one's for when I do web design and development work for people...people tend to forget things they want on their website and end up sending things piece meal and I end up with 15 emails for one simple project. It's kind of hard to organize it all into folders in just one email account so this one works perfectly.
4. The joint email address: this one's was set up with hubby but neither of us checked it, it was too much to check along with our own email account. I set it up mainly for when we'd host events I could send out a mass email to all our friends and family and they could RSVP straight to that account....it was easy to keep track of things that way.
5. The hubby email address: this one's just for hubby so I can keep all the special emails that he sends saying the sweetest and most romantic things and I don't have to worry about going over my storage limit.
6. The ex hubby email address: this one's because I wasn't sure how rocky or easy my divorce was going to be from ex hubby so I had set up a specific email address for him in case I needed to have records of what was said and not said...I guess I can get rid of that now as we worked things out very amicably and we're still friends which is nice.
7. The hotmail email address: this one's just for palm and for those people that I don't want writing to me any more but they still write!!! You know who you are!!!
8. The special friend email address: this one's just for Kansas Queen: I know this one is weird but we write to each other constantly, maybe 10 times a day sometimes...and many of her emails are so inspirational or things I just MUST keep and if I tried to keep them in my regular email account it would go over the storage limit. Plus I keep telling her to write a book about her life as sh*t ALWAYS happens to her and all you can do is laugh. So this account was mainly set up so when she's ready to write I can print and send her all the excerpts of her life and she can add them to her book.
9. lastly...THE EMAIL address: this one's my MAIN email account where I write to family and friends and all that good stuff.

Does anyone else have this many or am I the only insane analy organized person around here!!
