One of those oh moments where you want to cry!!

Did you ever have one of those oh...how cute (make you want to cry moments)...I just had one!!

I went downstairs to nurse baby C and they were all getting ready to go outside in the buggy, the weather is beautiful...a little nip in the air, but the air is so fresh and feels good against your skin and they were all excited to go outside.

After everyone's coat was on Aneesh (one of baby C's new and bestest friends) got into the buggy first and got strapped in. As soon as Aneesh was securely strapped in he starting calling out "mommy, mommy, mommy." However, because Aneesh calls everyone mommy right now I didn't really realize he was calling me mommy and pointing to baby C in my arms. Once he had my attention he starting pointing to the seat next to him and motioning that he wanted baby C next to him!!!

We (Margie and Lisa baby C's new day care mommies!) all stopped in amazement at what just happened. It might seem small but you have to understand, Aneesh is only 18 months old and has taken an affection towards baby C since her first day.

He brings her toys (as she can't crawl to get them yet), when they get goldfish he takes his share and tries to feed her goldfish (she can't even chew them yet), when she wakes up from her nap he starts pulling at Margie and Lisa's leg and pointing to baby C's crib (even though she doesn't even cry when she wakes up), if she does cry for some reason he starts pointing to her and making noises until they sooth her.

He's like the older brother she doesn't have and even though he can't say her name...he can say "baby" and that's what he calls her "Baby"! When he comes into day care in the morning he's shy...he stand at the doorway to the kitchen and won't enter...he surveys the area and all the children and once he sees baby C he makes a bee line for her and finally enters the kitchen!!

So with all that said for him to gesture for baby C to sit next to him in the buggy was priceless.

After the ahh moment was over they finally made it out the door to go on a pumpkin adventure!!

  1. Very cute story. Kids do have a way of communicating with adults. Sometimes, as an adult, it can be frustrating trying to figure out what your young child/toddler is saying. But when you finally GET IT...everyone is happy...especially the child. It's almost as if they say, "Sheesh, it's about time!" :-)
    Thanks for sharing.

  2. This is too adorable! Are you not allowed to take pictures of A? I wanted to check out this little man who has zoned in on my niece. He sounds in touch with his feminine side but is he a hard worker? Is he saved? What bad habits does he possess? Oh, he is only 1 1/2 old so I will ask again in 6 months. BTW- love the bear coat!

  4. Oh that's so sweet. I totally know what you mean. I had one of those moments with my twin girls. Kennedy did something she was not suppose to do so I told her no or something...I can't remember. Anyway, she started to cry and Chloe' came from all the way accross the room and quietly started to pat and rub her head. Like if saying that it will be ok. I almost had a fit it was so cute! Kids are sponges and they are so much smarter than we think they are. Kennedy and Chloe' were 16 months at the time. Ain't that somethin'?
