The vegetable garden is coming along nicely...

I'm very happy how well the garden is doing thus far....I divided the space into seeds started in doors vs seeds started outside. I wanted to see which fared the best.

The flourishing leafs you see are mostly from the eggplant (I guess I'd better hunt down a good recipe as those eggplant meatballs were a no go), pumpkin, potatoes, red onion, tomato, basil, cayenne pepper, lettuce and chives.

I have other seeds in the ground but they're not taking yet and i'm a little disappointed that the carrots seeds that I started in the house don't seem to be taking either. But time is on our side so we'll see.

  1. looking good! we started our entire garden on seeds and they went straight into the ground. I was not hopeful! LOL! But, it's mostly doing really well. We heard a few weeks ago from the guy we bought the seeds from that this has been a bad year for a couple of the seed companies and a lot of people had complained that certain ones weren't germinating. I don't know if that's nation wide or not. We're having issues with our green beans and bell peppers.

  2. oh yeah and eggplant....what about an eggplant parmesan? Or I saw the other day on a cooking show where she traded out every other pasta layer in a lasagna with thinly sliced eggplant. I bet that would be pretty good.

  3. Way to go. Some of my herbs were coming up then we got a ton of rain & tornados. Now it's all gone. I think I'll try again inside the house in the bay window. LOL
