Dear Mommy,
Wow you were right being a mother isn't easy, it truly does takes take many sacrifices and I'm so grateful that you made all the sacrifices you did for me.
I hated the long hours you worked and the days and nights I spent alone, but now I understand why you did it and for that I feel forever indebted and truly loved and blessed to have such a strong and resilient mommy.
I can only pray that I turn into even half the mother that you are and even a quarter of the nanny that you are.
We had a difficult time growing up, we had a good days and our bad days, I was always fed, clothed and loved....sometimes i was a little lonely....but they say "if it doesn't kill you it will only make you stronger" and I've never known anyone to die from loneliness.
But through it all I can honestly say I wouldn't change a thing....everything you allowed me to experience made me the woman I am today and I know I wouldn't be ANYWHERE if it wasn't for you, your morals, your words of wisdom, your advice, your cooking, your kindness, your frankness, your honesty and your love.
I remember growing up I used to think you knew everything. I didn't need a dictionary, or a bible or even the internet all I needed to do was ask you and you ALWAYS had the right answer.
I honestly think to this day that you still know everything, and if there's anything you don't know....it's probably not worth knowing. Google is great but, it's not worth knowing! LOL
Mommy, "You're simply the best, better than all the rest. Better than anyone, anyone I've ever me"
Love you always
Me
I'm doing 30 days of blogging challenge! this is day 24, see the rest here.
that was nice...your lucky to have those words in you to type!
ReplyDeleteThis was really sweet. I hope that one day you get a letter like this from baby C. Though without the loneliness, she'll probably talk about you getting coffee together or the chats you used to have after school. We can learn from our mothers what do to right but we can also be aware of what we would do differently xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tribute to you mother.
ReplyDeleteLove this post. Heartfelt, I always consider these to be the most stimulating.
ReplyDeleteYour mom raised a grown woman.
