I found a parrot to add to Baby C's costume for her to go trick or treating with, the poor thing looked drunk before we even rounded the block, oh and she only got called a boy once! I was very happy, I always thought she looked just like the son I hadn't had yet in this pirate costume!
I dread pulling the big old tubs down to put away the Halloween decorations and put up the Thanksgiving stuff, but the age Baby C is now she seems to really acknowledge all the decorations and their semblance so it would be a shame to get lame and lazy and not do it.
I got to work and had 3 mini twixs for breakfast, I'm eying the milky way for lunch and praying someone else snags them all before I get back from feeding Baby C. I don't have the will power to ignore all after halloween candy at work it just sits there calling me as I walk around, screaming my name, screaming eat me!!!
I'm in love with iGoogle, I can't believe I lived without it all this time...what was I doing?
I have it set as my browser home page now and so far it looks like I have a million boxes on my iGoogle page.
I have a box for Facebook so I don't have to go to the site to get my updates, a box for Google reader so I don't have to traverse a million blogs, I have a box for NPR, CNN and BBC so I can get all my news in one spot, I even have a BIG OLD box for sticky notes so I can randomly write notes or to do lists through out the day and don't have to rummage around for a real sticky note that I KNOW I'd loose before I got home anyway!!! Those real sticky notes are only for those real organized folks anyway!
Now if I could only have a box to do my work from I'd never even have to change screens!!! If you haven't seen it check it out: iGoogle.
I'm excited about the new Google Wave (click only if you're a self professed geek other wise you'll be bored to death.) So I even got rid of my yahoo email accounts (yes that is plural I had one account for real email and then one for when you have to fill in those stupid forms for stuff and they sell your email address to the rest of the world!) and converted to a gmail account. I feel like I'm getting ready for the next big thing and I don't want to miss it.
Getting a new email address was a way to cleanse and weed out all those old email addresses that don't work or people you don't talk to anyway!!!
When I started cleaning house, I had no idea I was subscribed to every newsletter on the planet...I don't have time to read all of them anyway...so I was clicking away on those unsubscribe links like a crazy lady...they really hide those things way at the bottom!!
We had McDonald's last night for dinner and I swore on a stack of "To Do Lists" (I don't have a stack of bible and even if I did it would feel funny swearing on them) ...that it would be the first and last time we eat fast food while Big C is gone. (unless you count the new bbq chicken salad from Applebees as fast food).
It is so had to get motivated to do anything while since Big C's been gone. I have a mound of laundry to do that's just getting bigger by the day in the basement, but I don't feel like creeping down to the basement alone.
I didn't feel like cooking last night at all and I felt like such a guilty parent watching Baby C eat a McDonalds fish sandwich, she's not that big on McDonalds at all and had Big C been home he would have EXPECTED a real SUNDAY DINNER!
To make up for Sunday I pulled out one piece of boneless skinless chicken breast and spinach from the freezer this morning, I'll make sure she gets replenished with protein and iron for dinner tonight if it kills me. This swine flu is sweeping the country like mad, I have to do anything I can to keep her immunity strong, if that's even possible with her going to day care! Even her doctors office puts a big old "Day Care" sticker on the front of her folder as if all day care kids have the plague or something! I'm just saying.....
It felt weird only pulling out one piece of chicken as well, normally I would have pulled out two. But Baby C still doesn't like meat so even that one piece might be two much for the both of us. I plan on doing a Chicken Alfredo (home made sauce) with spinach mixed in.
I had to take out the trash and drag it to the curb for the first time since we moved into our house 6 years ago...it felt very strange to say the least. Trash is definitely a mans job and I'm in no way a girly girl, I'm just saying....!!!
I had good food and good company Friday night. Cuban food with Camille and her son was a pleasant change to a Friday evening, and pumpkin cutting was hilarious, it was their first time, but I think both pumpkins came out really great. Of course they look a lot better at night with the candle in it...alas...
If only that stupid photography class hadn't flaked out on me I would have learnt how to take a picture of the pumpkins in the dark without the flash going off....aside from holding the flash down and breaking the damn camera....any advice is greatly appreciated.
Added two days later:
I figured out the laymans way of taking a picture in the dark cover the flash with your big old fat hand like you always did:
So does it look like a scary cat or what! LOL
You did a great job on the pumpkins. The kids and I will be solo in a few weeks as Big A will be heading to JA for 2 1/2 weeks and I am going to try so hard not to eat fast food while he's gone. I am glad that I have an older son who's job is to take out the trash because you are so right that is not a girls job.
ReplyDeleteEasily the best Halloween post I've witnessed on the blogs. Just from browsing your pics and post I can feel the love of family that you possess, which is so divine and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
