I am officially in a new world

Ok so I've heard of retinal scanning and finger print scanning...but notice the word "HEARD" I've never in my life actually seen it in action.

Plus if I were to ever come into contact with such a process I would have imagined it might have been at JFK airport during the busiest time of the season and for an international flight not a VENDING MACHINE (yes folks I said a vending machine)!!

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine it would be thrust into my life in suburban New York in my companies lunch room!!!!!!!!

So with out much further ado please read the email I received this morning:

Good morning,

We are happy to announce that AIP has had two new vending machines installed in the lunchroom for your use. A representative from the company is here today and will be here through 1:00 PM this afternoon demonstrating the use of the "Quickstore 24" machine.

Our new innovative snack and soda machine "Quickstore24" will dispense both snacks and beverages at a cost of 2 items for $1.00. The combination of items may be a snack and a 12 oz can of soda, two snacks or two 12 oz cans of soda. There will also be some 20 oz. bottled beverages available at a cost of $1.00 each and which are not part of the 2 for $1.00 promotion. If only one item is selected the cost will be 75 cents.

This machine accepts dollar bills and five dollar bills, as well as a credit card. You will never bring money to the vending machine again when you sign up for ThumbPass™. ThumbPass™ is Free to sign up. Press your thumb on the scanner, choose a backup pin (in case your thumb doesn’t scan), choose how you wish to pay (cash or credit card) and that’s it. Simply press your thumb, take your items and you’re on your way!

You’ll Never Lose Your Money in a Quickstore24™!
If you ever have a problem – call "Quickstore24" (number posted on the machine) for Real-Time Instant Customer Service. They will do their best to get you an item or return your change immediately right on the spot. If they can’t – they will email you a code good for your item or change.

Later this week we will also be replacing the refrigeratored food machine and the ice cream machine. The ice cream machine will now also carry frozen lunches that may be heated in the microwave (ie. Weight Watchers, South Beach or White Castle Hamburgers etc.)

We hope you will enjoy these new machines. Please stop by the lunchroom on your break to become acquainted with the "Quickstore24" machine and its many features.

Thank you.

  1. This is so great! I will forward to our HR dept who handles our vending machines even though I know this will not fly. I am sure of this because the coffee machine looks like it has been around since the 80's or before. My question for you is when you tried it did you put your eye to the machine thinking it would read your retina? I am laughing imagining you doing this!

  5. Do you want Quickstore 24 knowing everything you purchase?

    Fear corporations.

    Fear capitalism.

  6. I don't actually fear Quickstore 24 knowing everything I purchase but more fearful of Quickstore loosing my credit card information and erroneous charges appearing on my bill.

If the government can't keep veteran information safe then what do I expect from Quickstore 24!!!
