So I was reading the comments on my posts and I usually don't go back to old posts as the comment number usually doesn't change after a few days. But I went back to my Samaritans Purse post and I noticed a new comment.
It's from the Director of Development Operations at Samaritans Purse thanking me for posting information about their Operation Christmas Child on my blog!!!!
Well either they track any mention of key words associated with them on the internet or they were tracking where people were coming from and noticed a few people clicking from my blog to their site. Either way I am very taken a back that in this day and age someone had the time and energy to say thank you. I really really appreciate it, as I know they didn't have to do it at all!!!
So thank you Darren Mullenix for this comment...and that reminds me...my shoe boxes are still sitting on the dining room table waiting to to get dropped off at my local drop off center!!! I have 6 days to get them there which shouldn't be a problem as Big C works around the corner from our nearest drop off.
I can't wait to post pics of what we bought...we went straight to Target for this one, and while it was not my intent to buy ALL my items from the dollar spot Target has some really cool stuff in their dollar spot section. They have perfect items for stocking stuffers and little gifts for all seasons. I picked up a shoe box full of Hello Kitto items for my Samaritans Purse little girl...I could barely fit it in the box!! I picked a girl aged 5-9 and Big C picked a boy aged 2-4. Big C got some really cool stuff as well...lots of little wooden cars and planes and tons of other cool stuff. It was a lot of fun, we just wish we could see the child face as they open it, that's the best part of all if you ask me.
That is great that someone from the organization took time to comment. Why take pictures of the items you pack? So you do not send the same items next year? That's smart, duh! I did not drop my box off on Sunday like I thought so I need to do it this week but have been motivated to do one for a boy so Target is the hotspot!
ReplyDeleteKansas Queen that's so cool that you've been motivated to do one for a boy...yeah!!!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to take a pic of the box overflowing with goodies and a pic of Big C wrapping his box so I could scrap it.
That is SOOOOOOOOOO Sweet! God Bless you girl! You are really making a difference.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, I read the initial post, but really it went right over my head. This is such a great thing. I think your fun with it all made it even more tantalizing to want to give. I will definitely be checking this out. Oh, and KUDOS on the comment, that is a day maker. Not that we give to ge kudos, but to get them nonetheless is so rewarding. Oh and to combine a couple of comments in this one, I hope you have a great time at gymboree. Take pics, I love looking at baby C's cute little face.
