I hate posts without pictures!!

So here I am again, another post without pictures to accompany it...I hate that...I always feel like I'm leaving something out when I tell a story and I don't have the pics to go with it.

Alas, I move on.

So how was your Thanksgiving? Come on spill the beans!!!?

So my Thanksgiving started at 5:30AM when I got up to start cooking...and thankfully I was done and had everything in the oven by I think 7AM!!! I know I'm bad!!!

So the phone rings shortly after I stumble back up stairs to bed...it's my mother. She was calling from England to wish me a Happy Thanksgiving and after all the pleasantries were exchanged she asked me what time I was leaving to going over to my cousins in the Bronx, NY?

Huh? I ask her again.

My mother, who mind you is several thousands of miles away on the other side of the globe, tells me that everyone's getting together at my cousins house for Thanksgiving. (Yet this is the first I'm hearing about it is from a long distance call from Europe!!!)

My moms sister was even going over to my cousins house to help her cook as this was the first time she was doing Thanksgiving at her house. (Wow it just seems like yesterday that "everyone" was over at my house for my "first" thanksgiving at my house). My mother then proceeds to tell me that even my aunt from Queens, NY is going after she gets off from work, of course at that point, all I could do was laugh and quickly check the caller id on my cell and home phone "just in case"!

I think my mother felt terrible being the one to tell me...she had assumed that I had been told or invited (All the while I'm just assuming that there was a reason for this oversight).

ANYWAY by 12 noon ALL my food came out of the oven, cooked to perfection and not 5 mins later baby C wakes up from her nap...talk about perfect timing....everything was scrumptious and let me tell you about that wine "Sutter Home Moscato" that Mye recommeneded oh lordie!!!

Can I say it made it all the way to the number ONE spot on my best wine list!!! I love a wine that is sweet and NOT dry!! Thank you so much Mye!!

  3. Well I bet your food was a whole lot better anyway! Does your mom live in England, or was she just vacationing?

  5. Sorry you were not with everyone else but sounds like your Thanksgiving was still great. The Chiefs won so all is well in the world! This made my Thanksgiving along with being with people who feel like my new family. God is so good. They invited me over to their house and the sister of the person who house we went over was invited to my sister's house for Thanksgiving unknowingly. Look at God!
